Major Changes Planned for Pedestrians, Bikes in Downtown East
As a result of the major transformation happening in the Mill District (Downtown East), Minneapolis Public Works is developing a long term plan for a major revamping of the Pedestrian Realm.
The City of Minneapolis identified a study area bounded by Washington Avenue to 6th Street and 5th Avenue to Chicago Avenue. Within that 12 block area, there are a number of development changes under construction with more being planned and proposed. As such, the movement by all modes in this area will also change.
