MPRB is Hosting 6 Community Engagement Sessions on the 2027-28 Budget

Join MPRB for any of six community engagement sessions on September 10, 17, 19 and October 8, 22 and 24.
The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) is hosting six community engagement sessions on the 2027-28 budget. They will walk attendees through their budget and how how they use your tax dollars and leverage other revenue sources to serve the residents of Minneapolis. They are also asking for input on what matters most to residents.
MPRB is requesting a 5.86% tax levy increase to sustain current service levels. This funding won't restore previous cuts, but it will:
- Keep their team stable and ready to serve you
- Protect and grow the tree canopy
- Support hundreds of teen jobs and after-school programs
- Maintain child care and summer camp services
- Protect natural areas and open Upper Harbor and North Commons in North Minneapolis
Attend any of six community budget meetings this fall. Park commissioners and MPRB leaders will walk through exactly how they spend our dollars and what each program means for our city. These are city-wide meetings - you can attend the one closest to you, some of them, or all of them. Light snacks provided.
