Franklin Avenue Bridge Rehabilitation Update

Via a June 2 Hennepin County e-newsletter:

CLOSURE UPDATE:

Crews have been working on concrete removals on Franklin Bridge above West River Parkway trail. A flagperson(s) is on site for intermittent closures through the next few weeks.

Crews plan to close East River trail Thursday, June 4 for tree removals. The trail will be closed until fall 2015 for multiple construction activities. Detour signs will be in place.

TREE REMOVAL:

Tree removal is necessary to access the underside of the bridge for concrete removal. The crews will remove as few of trees as possible. The contractor will begin removing trees on the west bank today and east back Thursday.

IMPACT TO BICYCLISTS AND PEDESTRIANS:
