At the edge of the Mississippi River, city officials and high school students helped released seven rehabilitated birdsThursday in honor of the adoption of the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service Urban bird treaty program. Minneapolis becomes the 10th city in the country to be accepted into the program since 1999.

If true, it could spell the end for the Crown Hydro FERC license:
"Rep. Mike Beard introduced a bill in March that would have given Crown Hydro the ability to bypass the Park Board, but the bill made little progress. Beard said he doesn’t plan on bringing it up during a special session."
