In this class, we’ll explore our personal and collective journey to find our way to the hearth, the place we gather for nourishment and company. For centuries the hearth was the center of the house where food was cooked and community gathered to share meals and tell stories. How do we continue to do that today? February 15, 2019, Friday - Lake Home & Cabin Show at the Convention Center (thru Feb 17)

Lake Home & Cabin Show

Location: Minneapolis Convention Center, 1301 2nd Avenue Sout

There's nothing more Minnesotan than spending your summer weekends at the cabin. Some of us own or share a slice of "Cabin Heaven," while others are known as "OPC's" -- we get invited to other people's cabins. Both of us are the lucky ones when there's a chair at the end of the dock for that first cup of morning coffee.

We have a love affair with our lake homes and cabins and each year we rekindle it at the Lake Home & Cabin Show.

Now in its 15th year, the Lake Home & Cabin Show is Minnesota's ONLY show that specializes in second homes and the second home lifestyle. If you own a lake home, cottage or cabin or you want to own one this is a truly unique and focused event you'll want to experience.

Valentines Day can be an emotional day for some, whether society telling you that you should have a partner or feeling lonely in your own skin even when you are with someone else.

We so often forget that there are many types of love in the world, not just the romantic kind...
Through holding deep heart opening poses we will physically allow our heart organ to open up and let go of any residue. To journey through the dark, to find your light. The journey is yours, come feel something with us.

Little Works: Minneapolis based dance collective formed by: Amelia Morris, Marissa Jax, Maria Tordoff, and Emma Call – four people who met in the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee dance program. As a collective we are interested in support. To support a continued practice of creating and expressing, we host monthly informal showings where artists of all kinds are invited to share, witness, and discuss their works in progress. Little Works wishes to open a dialogue of collaboration with dancers, with artists, with anyone willing to be a part of the conversation. As young artists striving to find and establish ourselves in a new community, our name pays tribute to humble beginnings.

The Nunnery: Solo act of Sarah Elstran. Creating melding meditative, lush soundscapes with layered vocal loops and catchy hooks. More of an experience than just a sound, The Nunnery's somewhat-improvised performances are informed by the spaces in which they occur, and her live shows often incorporate other forms of art such as live visual projections.

Poe Yoni: Weaver of word quilts.
