May 27, 2017, Saturday - Mill City Farmers Market

Time: 8:00am - 1:00pm

Location: 704 South 2nd Street

Today at Mill City Farmers Market

Celebrate Memorial Day weekend with brats, burgers and spring veggies from the market! Mill City Farmers Market's Saturday Market is Minneapolis' trusted source for local, sustainable and organic groceries, bringing fresh food, cooking education and live entertainment to one beautiful place. Join us and over 60 local farmers, food makers and artisans this Saturday for a unique outdoor shopping experience.

Arugula, asparagus, baby bok choi, beets, carrots, chickweed, fresh herbs (chives, cilantro, mint), green garlic, kale, lettuce, microgreens, morels, mustard greens, nettles, pac choi, radishes (French breakfast and red globe), salad turnips, shiitake mushrooms, spinach, spring onions, Swiss chard, vegetable & herb plant starters, and more!

Learn how to cook market meals in our free, chef-led cooking demo, Mill City Cooks, offered every Saturday in the train shed patio at 10:30. This Saturday, market chef Nettie Colón will be making rhubarb ice tea and a spring dish. Plus, our kids’ tables at the demo always feature coloring sheets and other engaging activities, giving adults some free time to relax with a cup of coffee and learn tips and easy seasonal recipes from our market chefs. Samples and recipe cards are available at each demo—or check out our recipe archive!

Power of Produce “PoP“ veggie tasting club is at the information tent every Saturday! Kids ages 3-12 can earn a $2 token to spend on fruits and veggies by tasting a local, seasonal vegetable, as a way to empower kids to make healthy eating decisions. Learn more.

Our monthly donation-based yoga series starts at 9AM in the lawn down the stairs from the market, overlooking the Mighty Mississippi and Stone Arch Bridge. Join Laura from YogaFit Studios Northeast for a blissful outdoor practice.

This Saturday from 8am to 11am the market is hosting a live broadcast of Jazz88 KBEM’s Bluegrass Saturday morning! Come meet the shows’ hosts, watch live interviews and listen to some great music!
After the broadcast, Dan Newton of Daddy Squeeze will be playing café accordion tunes from 11 – 1 in the green music tent by the Guthrie stairs.

Homegrown Foods is an organic meal kit service that makes it easier to cook fresh healthy dinners at home. They feature foodie yet family-friendly recipes and seasonal meals featuring local ingredients. Homegrown Foods will have meal kits made with ingredients from our vendors at the top of the Chicago Mall this Saturday! Pre-order and view the menu:
