July 9, 2016, Saturday - Argentina Celebrates 200 Years of Independence in Minneapolis on Boom Island

Time: 11 AM - 9 PM

Location: Boom Island Park, 724 Sibley St. NE

 
Bicentenario Argentino Mini-Festival: traditional Argentine music, games, food & dance at Boom Island Park in Minneapolis.

1:30pm-2:30pm: Tango lesson & practica.
3:30pm-5:00pm: Dance lesson: traditional dances from Argentina by Paulino Brener (chacarera and more)
5:00pm-6:00pm: Tango lesson & practica
6:00pm-Sunset:  Fiesta Argentina
Argentine dance & music from all decades (cumbias, pop, rock nacional, cuarteto, tango, folklore...)
Games and activities for the whole family throughout the day: truco, fulbito, taba, pato (limited version) and more!

Food:
Del Sur Empanadas: food truck from 12pm to 6pm: the only authentic Argentine empanadas that you can buy in the Twin Cities. They also have chimichurri and lomitos!
Praline ...Platense: with traditional Argentine recipe for frosted nuts
About the park: There are 3 shelters at the park, each one with a double bbq (parrilla), if you want, you can make your own bbq or "asado". The park is quite big, so we'll be having different activities and music for the whole family.
