Lock-uatennial Open House

The National Park Service and Mississippi Park Connection invite you to experience Upper St. Anthony Falls Lock Visitor Center like never before!

In conjunction with the Minneapolis Aquatennial, enjoy a leisurely stroll or picnic on the lock wall surrounded by panoramic views of the falls, explore the visitor center, interact with National Park Service rangers and the Army Corps of Engineers, and discover the history and impact of the falls on Minneapolis and the nation.

In the evening, experience the first-ever concert on the lock wall, featuring Prairie Fire Lady Choir (5:15-5:45 PM) and Southside Aces (6:00-8:00 PM).

While you’re in the neighborhood, be sure to stop by the Aquatennial Family Fun Zone adjacent to the Lock between 4:30-9:30 PM and enjoy the fireworks at 10 PM.

Special thank you to our event sponsors: Friends of the Lock and Dam and Boston Scientific.
