Brownbody Presents: The Requisite Movers/Twin Cities

April 27-29

Presented by Brownbody and embracing FlyGround (Philadelphia) and Leslie Parker Dance Project (Saint Paul), the performances hold space for contemporary African diasporic dances and share stories rooted in truth and beauty through the complexities of Black experiences.

Brownbody Artistic Director Deneane Richburg performs Her Song with original lullaby by Thomasina Petrus. FlyGround’s ensemble awakens Native Portals, a reflection on the invisibility of lynching in U.S. history and the killings of Black people currently in our country. Leslie Parker Dance Project invokes Bone Womyn Traces in Black.
