April 24, 2018, Tuesday - Talk of the Stacks with Alex Wagner at Central Library

Time: Doors open at 6:15:00pm; program begins at 7:00pm

Location: Central Library, Pohlad Hall, 300 Nicollet Mall

Talk of the Stacks with Alex Wagner

Alex Wagner, co-host of Showtime’s "The Circus" and a contributor to CBS News and The Atlantic, will explore race, immigration, and belonging in her new book, "Futureface". Alex will be in conversation with Minneapolis-based political columnist, culture critic, and host of "With Friends Like These" podcast, Ana Marie Cox.

As the daughter of a Burmese mother and a white American father, Alex Wagner grew up thinking of herself as a “futureface”—an avatar of a mixed-race future when all races would merge into a brown singularity. Drawn into the wild world of ancestry, she embarks upon a quest around the world—and into her own DNA—to answer the ultimate questions of who she really is and where she belongs. Wagner is anchor and correspondent for CBS News, a contributing editor at The Atlantic, and author of "Futureface: A Family Mystery, an Epic Quest, and the Secret to Belonging".

Presented by U.S. Bank and sponsored by BNSF Railway and Star Tribune, Talk of the Stacks is free and open to the public and held at Hennepin County Library - Minneapolis Central (300 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis, MN 55401) in Pohlad Hall. Seating is first come, first served. Doors open at 6:15 pm and programs begin at 7 pm. Book sales and signings follow presentations
