Deni Ellis Béchard is the author of four works of fiction and nonfiction, including the novel Into the Sun, the memoir Cures for Hunger, and Of Bonobos and Men: A Journey to the Heart of the Congo. His first novel, Vandal Love, received the 2007 Commonwealth Writers' Prize and was selected for Oprah's Book Club's summer reading list. He has reported from Afghanistan, northern Iraq, India, Rwanda, and the Congo for a variety of publications including the Los Angeles Times, Outside, Foreign Policy, Salon, Maisonneuve, and The Harvard Review.

About INTO THE SUN: When a car explodes in Kabul ten years after 9/11, a journalist discovers that its passengers—three fellow expats—had formed an unlikely love triangle.
