Join the Loft for an evening of reading and conversation with authors Emma Straub (Laura Lamont's Life in Pictures) and Steve Stern (The Book of Mischief: New and Selected Stories).

Emma Straub is the author of the short story collection Other People We Married and the novel Laura Lamont's Life in Pictures, both from Riverhead Books. Her fiction and nonfiction has been published in Tin House, The Paris Review Daily, The Wall Street Journal, Slate, The New York Times, and elsewhere. A staff writer for Rookie, Emma lives in Brooklyn, New York, with her husband.

Laura Lamont's Life in Pictures follows the life of a midwestern girl turned golden-age Hollywood star. "An exquisite debut novel that brings Depression-era Hollywood to life with startling immediacy. Steve Stern is the author of several novels and story collections, including The Frozen Rabbi and The Wedding Jester. Winner of the National Jewish Book Award, Steve teaches at Skidmore College in upstate New York.
