September 18, 2013, Wednesday - 2013 Minneapolis Emergency PrepareFair

Time: 10:00am - 2:00pm

Location: In the IDS Center Crystal Court and along Nicollet Mall between 6th and 10th Streets.

The 2013 PrepareFair will feature dozens of emergency preparedness exhibitors inside the IDS Center Crystal Court. Along Nicollet Mall there will be live demonstrations from special teams such as the Minneapolis Police Department (MPD) Bomb Squad, SWAT and K9 units. Response vehicles from the Minneapolis Police Department (MPD), Minneapolis Fire Department (MFD) and the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) among others will be on display.

Target and Points of Light are teaming up to bring Good & Ready, an online and on-the-ground emergency preparedness program, to the Minneapolis PrepareFair to help families and the community prepare for disasters. Attendees will receive disaster preparedness kits to take home for their families. While supplies last, the kits will include a hand-crank flashlight, water bottle, dust mask, garbage bags and hand sanitizing wipes, among other items.
