September 17, 2015, Thursday - Creative City Road Map Open House

Time: 4:00pm – 6:00pm

Location: Public Functionary, 1400 12th Avenue NE

The Creative City Road Map is the City of Minneapolis’ planning process to think more strategically about how its arts and creative assets can best contribute to the local and regional economy and improve Minneapolis’ quality of life. The role of arts and culture in the City of Minneapolis, and the way the City chooses to support these industries and activities, are changing.

The planning process is guided by an interest in how arts, culture and the creative economy make Minneapolis a more welcoming and desirable place to live and gives underserved Minneapolitans access to economic and social returns. The Creative City Road Map’s vision is that arts and cultural activities have the capacity to expand the economic ‘pie’ and help more people reap benefits. At this open house, come take in music by local artists, mingle with the Artist Engagement Teams, talk to City staff and learn about the vision and data behind the planning process, and provide feedback on key parts of the draft Road Map. Your comments will help inform the final Road Map document and guide Road Map implementation.
