Second Story, the Loft's reading series for children's and young adult authors, present BANNED! [The Title of This Event Has Been Censored] a lively panel discussion of literature and censorship with authors, educators, and librarians. Readings by the authors follows the discussion.

Pete Hautman is the author of more than twenty novels for adults and teens, including the 2004 National Book Award winner Godless and the time travel adventure Mr. Was. Pamela Klinger-Horn has been a children's book club facilitator at Immaculate Heart of Mary for eight years, working with 6th to 8th grade girls. She also facilitates a book club for 4th - 6th grade girls at Excelsior Library. She is on the board of the Friends of the Excelsior Library and The Rain Taxi Literary Review of Books.
James Klise is the author of Love Drugged (Flux), a Stonewall Honor book, ALA Rainbow List selection, and a finalist for the Lambda Literary Award. James earned an MFA from Bennington College in Vermont and his next YA novel will appear in the fall of 2013. By day, James works as a high school librarian in Chicago, where he advises the school's literary journal, book club, and gay-straight alliance.
Charlotte Sullivan has taught English and writing for over sixteen years, starting in the public schools and now at Normandale Community College, where she specializes in Children's and YA Literature. She writes children's fiction, literary essays, and poetry and interviews authors and editors of YA and children's literature for KFAI's Write On! Radio.
