October 8, 2013, Tuesday - DMNA Annual Meeting at Open Book

The Final Debate & Downtown Neighborhood Election Night

Time: 6:00pm - 8:00 pm

Location: Open Book, 1011 Washington Avenue S

Downtown Minneapolis Neighborhood Association and Agenda.

The DMNA Annual Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 8.  This year’s annual meeting will take place at Open Book – 1011 Washington Avenue S.  The meeting will start at 6 p.m.

The Debate

The annual meeting will feature a candidates forum for those people running for the Third Ward City Council seat.  All candidates for the new 3rd Ward City Council race have committed to participating:

  • Jacob Frey (DFL Endorsed Candidate)
  • Kristina Gronquist (Green Party Endorsed Candidate)
  • Diane Hofstede (DFL Incumbent Councilwoman)
  • Michael Katch (Libertarian Endorsed Candidate).

Sarah McKenzie from the Downtown Journal will moderate the forum.

The Election - You Have 4 Votes

Elections to the DMNA Board of Directors will take place at this meeting.  There are four seats up for election.  Anyone who lives, works, or owns property in the Downtown East or Downtown West neighborhoods can run for a seat on the board.  Board members serve a two-year term.

For the first time ever, Mill City Times is endorsing candidates.  These four Mill District residents, all extraordinarily engaged at the neigborhood level, will serve the Mill District/Downtown East area well:

- Chad DiDonato

- Laurie Jones

- Claudia Kittock

- Peter Zenner

Use your 4 votes!

Happy Hour

JJ's Coffee and Wine Bistro will also be offering happy hour specials to those people attending the DMNA annual meeting.
