October 30, 2012, Tuesday - 4th Annual Dead Writers' Halloween Party at Kieran's Irish Pub

Date: 6:00pm

Location: Kieran's Irish Pub, 601 1st Avenue North

The Loft Literary Center invites the bookish and morbid to Kieran’s Irish Pub on the night before Halloween for a ghoulishly indulgent evening of literature, libations, parlor games, costumes, prizes, and a séance with the dead.  The evening will consist of a short open mic starting at 6:15 p.m., after which local authors Scott Wrobel, Matt Rasmussen, Nona Kennedy Carlson, and Sarah Caflisch will gather around an Ouija board in an attempt to communicate with a famous author—selected via Facebook poll (click the link to vote), with Ernest Hemingway, Anne Sexton, Hunter S. Thompson, and Virginia Woolf all in the running—from beyond the grave.

Special guest Dave Schrader, co-host of Darkness on the Edge of Town Paranormal Radio, will be on hand to tell some of the scariest stories he's heard on his show.

The evening will continue with parlor games and the Loft’s annual Dead Writers’ costume contest. Dress as your favorite dead author! Prizes will be given away for the best and most creative costumes.

$5 suggested donation—no one will be turned away.
