October 18, 2014, Saturday - Rock the Lock! - Saint Anthony Falls Paddlefest Hosted by Above the Falls Sports - CANCELED

UPDATE VIA FACEBOOK 10/7/14:

NOTICE: Rock the Lock is regretfully being postponed.
Unfortunately, due to some permitting constraints and their associated time sensitivity we are being forced to postpone Rock the Lock. Also, being that Minnesota turns into an icy and lifeless abyss around this time of year, we have to postpone this event until the spring instead of just pushing it back a few weeks. Good news: word on the street is that the lock may not be officially closing until June, so we still have time! Also, moving it to the spring gives us a chance to celebrate the Mississippi, the Upper Saint Anthony lock, AND the end of winter! Thank you to anyone who has and will continue to support this awesome event, and we hope to see you in the spring!!!

Rock the Lock! - Saint Anthony Falls Paddlefest Hosted by Above the Falls Sports

Rock the Lock is a day of fun and adventure to celebrate Minneapolis, St. Anthony Falls, and the Mississippi while raising money for youth outdoor recreation. Hoping to "Rock the Lock", EVERYONE IS WELCOME to join us in PADDLING THE UPPER ST. ANTHONY LOCK for the LAST time! This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to be the last paddlers through the 75-foot lock before its complete closure to ALL boat traffic. After this urban paddling adventure, it's back to Muse to kick off a concert where there will be plenty of fun, food and drink, information, and ROCK N' ROLL!!

We have a passion for outdoor recreation and believe in the importance of providing outdoor recreation opportunities for youth. To help make a difference for youth in our community, all of the proceeds from this event are being donated to local organizations dedicated to getting youth outdoors and active. Along with raising money for our community, it's also incredibly important to recognize the historic significance of the Upper St. Anthony Lock. This event is the last chance to experience first-hand, the rich history and many opportunities the Upper Lock and Mississippi have given to Minneapolis. Don't miss out on this incredible (and incredibly fun) opportunity!
