October 15, 2016, Saturday - Meet the Artist of “Up and Down: The H.H.H. Metrodome Portfolio” at Mill City Museum

Time: 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Location: Mill City Museum, 704 S 2nd Street

Meet the Artist of “Up and Down: The H.H.H. Metrodome Portfolio”

Photographer Mark E. Jensen will be on hand to talk with visitors about his photography exhibit “Up and Down: The H.H.H. Metrodome Portfolio,” currently on display in the museum’s central Mill Commons.

From 1980-1982, Jensen photographed the construction of the Metrodome using a large format field camera patented in 1898. In 2014, he was awarded an Artists Initiative Grant by the Minnesota State Arts Board to photograph the stadium's demolition. The resulting pairs of black and white photographs present the rise and demise of the Metrodome, and more than 30 years of change in downtown Minneapolis.
.
The exhibit is on display through November 6, 2016, and was made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
