October 10, 2015, Saturday - Cooking with Apples and Honey Author Event at Mill City Museum

Time: 12:30 pm - 2:45 pm

Location: Mill City Museum, 704 South 2nd Street

Join us for a series of Baking Lab cooking demonstrations at 12:30 pm and 2 pm using apples and honey with MNHS Press authors Joan Donatelle and Sue Doeden. In Astonishing Apples, Joan Donatelle is your guide to apple abundance, bringing a fondness for the fruit that goes beyond the standard slices-and-brie or apple crisp. In Homemade with Honey, Sue Doeden applies this ambrosial ingredient to a wide variety of dishes.

The books are the latest publications in the Northern Plate series from the Minnesota Historical Society Press, celebrating the bounty of the Upper Midwest by focusing on a single ingredient and exploring its historical uses as well as culinary applications across a range of dishes. After each demonstration, books will be available for purchase, and the authors will be available to sign copies of the book.

Cost
Regular site admission: $12 adults, $10 seniors and college students, $6 ages 5-17, free for ages 4 and under and MNHS members
