Public Hearing – West River and James I Rice Parkways Trail Improvements 6:30pm
The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) Planning Committee will hold a public hearing for the concept plan for 3.5 miles of proposed trail improvements along West River and James I Rice Parkways. The resolution before the Planning Committee is to approve the concept plan as recommended by a Community Advisory Committee (CAC). The concept plan is based on community preferences received through extensive outreach, including three public meetings, an open house, on-line and in-field surveys of trail users. Included in the plan is new asphalt surfacing for the bicycle trails, adding missing segments of pedestrian trails along the corridor, separated bicycle and pedestrian trails where possible or a widened combined use trail. Improved lighting, parkway crossings and an added rest area at Bohemian Flats are also included in the project scope. You are invited to attend this public hearing where you will have an opportunity to review the plans and share your comments with the Planning Committee.
