More Than a Single Story: Men of Color in 2017

More Than A Single Story is a series of programs that take place at different venues across the Twin Cities. Founded and curated by writer, Carolyn Holbrook, the program strives to break down the stereotyping of people of color by celebrating their diverse voices and experiences.

Local author David Mura will engage writers Anthony Ceballos, Keno Evol, Emmanuel Ortiz, Bao Phi and Clarence White in a discussion about what it means to be a man of color in 2017. What are the stories? What are the models of masculinity that have been given? How do they see themselves as sexual beings, fathers and partners? Learn how they deal with stereotypes and cultural representation. An opening poem will be performed by IBé. Funded by Minnesota's Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
