May 7, 2013, Tuesday - Revisiting Twain's Mississippi: Photos by Chris Faust at Central Library

Time: 7:00pm–8:00pm

Location: Pohlad Hall at Central Library, 300 Nicollet Mall

Revisiting Twain's Mississippi: Photos by Chris Faust

Gain additional insight into Cargill Hall’s “Revisiting Twain's Mississippi: Photos by Chris Faust” exhibit. Local author John Anfinson (“The River We Have Wrought” and “River of History”) will speak on the history of the Upper Mississippi River. He’s historian and cultural resources specialist, Mississippi National River and Recreation Area.

Faust will tell us more about Bosse's work for the Army Corps of Engineers and how he used his training as a biologist and his passion for exploration to re-photograph the Mississippi River a century later from the vantage points that Bosse used. His work is exhibited regularly in galleries around Minnesota. His work is held by the permanent collections of the Walker Art Center, Minneapolis Institute of Arts, Weisman Art Museum, and San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Reception will precede program.

This project is funded with money from Minnesota's Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
Sponsored by the Council of Regional Public Library System Administrators and in collaboration with Foundation for the Exhibition of Photography.
