MacPhail Free Family Music Series

Featuring MacPhail faculty Pinar Basgoze and Susana Pinto, piano duo, Daniel Abdon, narrator, Julie Johnson, flute, Carrie Vecchione, oboe and guest artist Thea Groth, bassoon.

Peter and the Wolf is by Sergei Prokofiev, arranged for piano four-hands, violin, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon. In this very unique and engaging piece, each character in the story is represented by an instrument and featured as a soloist. That kind of sound imitation and imagery will give children an opportunity to associate variety of animal sounds and human voice characteristics with specific musical instruments.
