An Evening with Sculptor Aldo Moroni
Well known sculptor Aldo Moroni will present a one hour PowerPoint discussion about the history of art in Minneapolis with a focus on our river front district. He will focus on the role of local collectors, major institutions and our cities arts program as chronicles a forty year history as a major contributor to our cultural heritage.
Moroni has more than 35 large permanent works in Museum and public collections across the USA. He is a fellow The NEA Arts Midwest, The Minnesota State Arts Board, The McKnight Foundation and The Bush Foundation, along with numerous other grants and juried prizes.
His local works include a 6 ton sculpture that is the focal point of The Federal Reserve Banks Lobby, a 40 foot long water garden that is the focal point of the McKnight Foundations lobby, and the 23 bronze sculptures that form the gateway to the Marcy Holmes neighborhood.
A collection of his new works will be included with this artists talk.
