May 21, 2017, Sunday - Ard Godfrey House Instameet with Preserve Minneapolis

Ard Godfrey House Instameet

The Ard Godfrey House is the oldest surviving wood-frame home in Minneapolis. Built in 1848 it was the original home of St. Anthony millwright Ard Godfrey, who was instrumental in building the first dam on the Falls, and also served as the town's first postmaster.

The House was moved to its present location in Chute Square Park in 1907, and has been restored and maintened by the The Woman's Club of Minneapolis since 1975.

Join us for the Woman's Club's 29th Annual Dandelion Day Celebration, which celebrates Harriet Godfrey's introduction of dandelion seeds to the St. Anthony Falls area. Not only will the House is open for tours, but you can learn new ways to harness the power of dandelions from making tea to wine.
