May 2, 2015, Saturday - The Joy Ride 2015

Starts 11:00am - We've planned a full day for you! Hop on wherever or ride from open to close.

The Joy Ride 2015 – A smorgasbord of bike fun

First, enjoy an open house from the spring-fresh Cycling Museum of Minnesota. Pick up some lessons about the hundred plus–year history of bicycling in our grand state and see some vintage rides in person. At noon, at the Museum, meet up with Spinning Stories for a slow-paced, place-based story ride that features live storytelling from Cynthia McArthur, Amy Salloway and Robin Garwood. Spinning Stories will conclude at Goldstein Museum of Design for a look at the legendary bikes of Minnesota’s designers and builders.

Our second group ride of the day, meeting at 5 p.m. at Goldstein, is superhero-themed! In honor of Free Comic Book Day, dress up like your favorite extraordinary superhuman (capes strongly recommended) and sail over to Big Brain Comics. With a bag full of comics, hop over to Grumpy’s for food, drinks and a superhero story-sharing session. Share your 30 Days of Biking experiences and meet new people. Finally, we’ll cross the bridge and shake our bunnytails off to DJ Jonathan Ackerman at honey mpls. You rode in April. Let’s dance in May.

Full timeline at The Joy Ride MSP. Sponsored by Anelace Coffee, Recovery Bike Shop, KIND and The Current.
