Today at Mill City Farmers Market: Backyard Gardening Day

Produce Planner: At the Market this Saturday, you will find: Sweet and hearty spinach, asparagus, rhubarb, pac choi, beets, micro greens, salad mix, sweet sugar pea shoots, herbs, spring onions, chives, arugula, nettles, fiddlehead ferns, radishes, carrots, kale, Swiss chard, potatoes, cilantro, oregano, dried and fresh mushrooms, dried peppers, and lots of organic seed starts of many varieties, including Medicinal/culinary herbs, heirloom tomato, sunflowers, Brussels sprouts, artichokes, catnip, ground cherries, purslane, seed potatoes, and much more.

Mill City Cooks, 10 am: Today Market Chef Jenny Breen will be joined by Loon Organics' farmer Laura Frerichs who will be giving us all some tips about spring gardening! Jenny will be demoing a fresh spring recipe: Early Greens and Wild Rice with a tangy olive marinade.

Live Music, 11 am – 1 pm: Light of the Moon Duo serves up a wide range of roots music from the America South, ranging from Appalachian tunes and Old-time Country to Country Blues and Swing…on banjo, guitars, harmonicas, feet, voices, tinwhistle.

Mini Farm, all day: Our furry friends from Oliver H. Kelley Farm weren't able to make it to the Market last week but will be here this Saturday and every 2nd Saturday of the month!Community Booth: University of Minnesota Extension Master Gardeners benefit schools, community gardens, youth programs, environmental education programs, farmers markets, and much more. Stop by and learn about this great program!
