Black Voices and The Bluest Eye
presented in partnership with TruArtSpeaks

TruArtSpeaks, in partnership with the Guthrie Theater, presents Black Voices and The Bluest Eye, an evening of spoken word performances, video presentations and visual art displays by Washburn High School students with support from TruArtSpeaks mentors and alumni.

With DJ Just Nine and other TruArtSpeaks artists, students will perform original spoken word poems and display art that converses with The Bluest Eye, a stage adaptation of Toni Morrison’s first novel, while incorporating course content, their lived experience, and current events.

Tickets are free. Reservations are required.
