May 15, 2016, Sunday - Dandelion Day at Ard Godfrey House

Time: 1:00pm – 4:00pm

Location: Ard Godfrey House, Chute Square, at the corner of University and Central Avenue SE

Dandelion Day

Built in 1849, the Ard Godfrey House was restored by the Woman’s Club and has been open to the public since 1979. Dandelion Day celebrates Harriet Godfrey’s introduction of dandelion seeds to the St. Anthony Falls area.

At the Godfrey House annual Dandelion Day celebration, learn how Harriet Godfrey brought dandelion seeds in 1849 to St. Anthony Falls from her home in Maine, and how she used dandelions in family life. Take home free Godfrey House buttons for the kids and Harriet’s recipes for brewing dandelion coffee and tea.

Admission is FREE, but donations are welcome.

Dandelion Day marks the beginning of the summer tour season at the Ard Godfrey House. Summer hours are Saturdays and Sundays, June through August, 1:00 – 4:00 pm. No admission fee is charged but donations are welcome. Special group tours may be arranged year round by calling 612-781-8791. For more information, visit www.womansclub.org.
