Join us and over 60 local farmers, food makers and artisans - rain or shine - this Saturday for a unique outdoor shopping experience.

Produce Planner

Mill City Cooks

Learn how to cook market meals in our free, chef-led cooking demo, Mill City Cooks, offered every Saturday in the train shed patio at 10:30. This Saturday, market chef Jenny Breen will be cooking up a spring menu. Plus, our kids’ tables at the demo always feature coloring sheets and other engaging activities, giving adults some free time to relax with a cup of coffee and learn tips and easy seasonal recipes from our market chefs. Samples and recipe cards are available at each demo—or check out our recipe archive!

Kids' Activities

Planting Activity! All day in the Mill City Cooks kids area, the market’s youngest shoppers can make a newspaper flower pot and plant it with herbs and flowers for Mom!

Power of Produce “PoP” veggie tasting club is at the information tent every Saturday! Kids ages 3-12 can earn a $2 token to spend on fruits and veggies by tasting a local, seasonal vegetable, as a way to empower kids to make healthy eating decisions. Learn more.

Mini Farm

The Minnesota Historical Society’s Oliver H. Kelley Farm joins us on the second Saturday of each month to show us what life was like on an 1860’s Minnesota farm. Meet heritage-breed sheep and chickens and chat with Kelley Farm staff on the top of the Chicago Mall, near Spoonriver restaurant.

Live Music

Join the Roe Family Singers, a “Good-Time, Old-Time Hillbilly band” for live music from 11-1 at the top of the Chicago Mall near the Guthrie Theater.

Art Market

Find something special for mom. Shop for handmade jewelry, ceramics and other artisan goods in our weekly rotating art market, located in the train shed near the entrance to the Museum. This week we are featuring Hat MakeCrankosaurus Press hand-printed linens, Adam Gruetzmacher ceramics, Annika Kaplan Jewelry and Old World Cabinet woodworking.

Community Booths

Hennepin County Master Gardeners – Get your spring gardening questions answered and learn some tips for planting a spring garden (or patio pots!) from Master Gardener volunteers at their booth on the top of the Chicago Mall.

Minnesota DNR – Minnesota Parks and Trails’ vision is to create unforgettable park, trail, and water recreation experiences that inspire people to pass along the love for the outdoors to current and future generations. At the market this Saturday, they will be providing information on the many outdoor recreation opportunities the state of Minnesota offers as well as looking for your feedback on how we can improve your Parks and Trails experience.
