Sale to Benefit Marginalized Women in Kenya
Shop upcycled jewelry on the Public Service/Skyway Level of the Government Center this spring. Money from the sale goes to the Minneapolis nonprofit Grandmother Circles, who in turn sends the money to Kenya to support marginalized women.
For about five years, this program has served as an alternative for Department of Community Corrections and Rehabilitation clients who need to complete community service but are unable to physically complete labor-intensive duties. The group takes donated, out-of-date, broken jewelry and refashions the pieces into something new.
