University of MN Collaborative Concert: Myths & Hymns

Based on a hymnal from the 19th century and Greek mythology, this collection of songs poignantly
addresses our connection to each other, yearning for transcendence, and hope for the future. Drawing from
musical languages such as rock, R&B, funk, gospel, and classical, Guettel (The Light in the Piazza, Floyd Collins), one of America’s foremost composers, is able to wave the waters of deep emotion and thoughtfulness while having a whole lot of fun.
