Time: 9:00am - 3:00pm

Location: Minnesota Center for Book Arts, 1011 Washington Avenue South

MCBA/Loft Combo Class for Young Writers - For students ages 9-11.

Celebrate the art of food in this great combo class with Minnesota Center for Book Arts and The Loft Literary Center! Begin the day by exploring the world of printmaking and bookbinding at MCBA as you create a handmade screw-post journal to keep track of recipes, food memories and future food projects. After lunch, work with The Loft to fill your books with fabulous food stories -- fiction, nonfiction essays, memories, and recipes! Learn the basic craft techniques of fiction and nonfiction while writing about your favorite dishes, memorable meals, imaginary restaurants, fictitious food reality shows, and more. Fun and creative writing exercises will encourage you to think about all of the ways that food is involved in our lives -- both real and imagined.

$102 ($91.80 MCBA or Loft members); low-income rate may be available, contact The Loft for application.  Register online through The Loft Literary Center or call 612-379-8999.
