Northern Coffeeworks Presents: Barista Throwdown & Taco Takeover by Piña

The most skilled baristas in Minneapolis will step behind the bar at Northern Coffeeworks to throw down their best latte art designs in a 32 competitor bracket, $5 gets you in. It’s gonna be a winner take all, leave ‘em in the dust kind of night. Travel & Variety reporter Amelia Rayno and Digital Features Editor Tom Horgen from the Star Tribune will be on hand to judge. The top 3 finishers will take home prizes from Ruby Coffee RoastersCafe Imports, and Northern Coffeeworks

If that wasn’t enough...

We’ve got James Beard Nominated Chef Jorge Guzman taking over our kitchens at Northern for a “Taco Takeover”. We’ll be serving cochinita pibil, chorizo-potato and refried lentil tacos with all the salsas! Along with tacos, Chef Jorge will be introducing a favorite recipe of Sikil Pak, a traditional pumpkin seed dip from his home town in the Yucatan. Head Brewer Niko of Fair State Brewing Cooperative and Chef Jorge are also collaborating on a ONE TIME special beer release! All tortillas will be from Masienda, one of the country’s leading tortilla makers, they’re doing it right!

 Last but not least...

DJ Stepmom will be spinning records and bringing those funky vibes!
