Abe Lincoln and Uncle Tom in the White House by Carlyle Brown, directed by Carlyle Brown
Alone in the Executive Office, as he struggles with signing the Emancipation Proclamation, Abraham Lincoln is mysteriously visited by Uncle Tom, the fictional character in Harriet Beecher Stowe's abolitionist novel Uncle Tom's Cabin. In a surreal interaction, these two iconic characters - one from life, the other from literature - attempt to understand each other across the chasm of race in the midst of the Civil War.
Seating in the Dowling Studio is general admission and begins 30 minutes before curtain.
