The Minnesota Emerging Writers’ Grant provides writers financial support and professional assistance to develop and implement multifaceted plans to help them with their artistic endeavors.
Winners will be selected to receive grants of up to $10,000 to underwrite projects of their own design. The total amount that can be awarded is $38,000. The total number of winners will be dependent on the requests. Typically, four writers are awarded grants.
Applications are accepted from Minnesota poets, prose writers, children's authors, and spoken word poetry artists. Applications are not accepted in the following genres: monologues, scripts, screenplays, journalism, academic, education, business, or self-help.
Loft Program Director Bao Phi will conduct a free informational session and Q and A about the Emerging Writers Grant. The session is free but please pre-register by sending an email to bphi@loft.org.
