Be Our Guest: Finding Creative Time + Space

Visual artists, writers, composers, performance artists, choreographers and more — this is for you! Learn about the hundreds of artists' residency opportunities available for artists of all kinds and every career stage, in your backyard and across the globe. Find out what distinguishes them, the best way to apply, and how to maximize your experience. Hear from artists who have participated in a range of residencies about their experiences and the impact residencies have had on their careers and their work.

This discussion will be led by Caitlin Strokosch, Executive Director, Alliance of Artists Communities. The Alliance of Artists Communities is an international association of artist residencies, representing hundreds of residency programs and connecting artists with opportunities to develop new work. Joining Caitlin will be local artists who have benefited from residencies — composer Mary Ellen Childs, writer and performance artist May Lee-Yang, and visual artist Andy Sturdevant.

This event is presented in collaboration with Springboard for the Arts and the McKnight Foundation.
