June 28, 2011, Tuesday - Centennial of the Linking of the Lakes at Central Library

Lake Calhoun and Lake of the Isles were ceremonially linked when Minneapolis boosters staged a week of festivities in July 1911 to celebrate past civic pride and expectations for a glorious future. Local history enthusiast Peter Sussman will present photographs and news accounts of these events from 100 years ago.
