June 20, 2015, Saturday - 4th Annual Greenway Glow Arts Festival and Night Bike Ride on the Greenway!

Time: 6 p.m. - Midnight

The Greenway Glow is TWO events in ONE:  a FREE night-time ARTS FESTIVAL, and a night BIKE RIDE to raise funds for the Midtown Greenway.

Register HERE for Greenway Glow night bike ride, to help raise money for the Greenway and get free food from Agra Culture, Prairie Dogs Hot Dogs & Sausages, and Ghandi Mahal.  Plus beverages from New Belgium Brewing, glow lights, and more! 

Greenway Glow Arts Festival

Elan Uptown Apartments (on the Greenway, near Emerson Ave.):

Twin Cities String Academy - Listen to the violinists of the Twin Cities String Academy play from 7:15 p.m. to 7:50 p.m.   Middle section of Elan Uptown Apartments - the one with the pedestrian bridge.

Bryant Avenue Ramp:

Glow Sticks - Glowing stilters from Chicks on Sticks will be departing from Bryant Avenue at 9 p.m. heading towards a dance party in the parking lot of Kix Field on 4th Street. 

The Nighttime Post - Help create hand delivered messages for unknown/random citizens along the Greenway. 8 p.m. to Midnight

MoZaic Art Park (behind the Lagoon Theatre; use the Girard ramp)

LumiNite - Come watch this vibrant bicycle driven light and music performance that will depart from MoZaic at 9:30 p.m. and again at 10:45 p.m., going eastbound on the Greenway.  Join them for the ride if you'd like!

Venus In Ventus ("Venus on the Wind") - Permanent bronze sculpture by Heidi Hoy, depicting the messanger of love taking flight on the winds.

Trolley Ball - Permanent steel sculpture by Lars Fisk, fashioned after the historic Streetcar #1300 that was built in 1908. 

Soo Visual Arts Center (Bryant and 29th St. on the Greenway):

Rumba Eterna - This Electric Latin band will be playing the After-Glow party in Soo Visual Arts Center from 9:45 p.m. to 11 p.m.   Free entry - all welcome!    

Soo Visual Arts Center - Will be featuring Kulture High, Balck and Yellow, and InTeRsEcT.   Food on sale from Prairie Dogs Hot Dogs & Sausages & beverage sales courtesy of Bryant-Lake Bowl, from 8 p.m. - Midnight.   Free entry.

Soo Line Community Garden (between Garfield and Harriet on the Greenway):

Come by Soo Line Community Garden for the Family Glow from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., where you and your family can create free ceramic art with Fire on the Greenway; Luminaries; decorative Hmong coin bags with the Minneasota Historical Society; and other fun art projects with Free Arts Minnesota

Stereo Trees - An installation by Areca Roe, featuring 3D photographs seen through special viewers. 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

BEE LOVE - Come see and dance along with live music, dance, and participatory art celebrating bees, green spaces, and the Midtown Greenway connections. 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Spinning Stoires: Stories After Dark Stop 1 - Listen to the placebased tales by talented storytellers and ride along to hear more at two other locations along the Midtown Greenway. 8:30 p.m. and again at 10:30 p.m.

Under the Blaisdell Avenue Bridge:

Collabritive Art using recycled materials - Hosted by EDIT

Will Gove Garden (near 4th Ave. & Kix Field): 

Pollinator Path - Explore this interactive, pollinator themed installation with black lights and face painting. 8 p.m. to Midnight 

Kix Field Parking Lot (near 4th & 5th Ave.): 

Glow Sticks Dance Party - Glowing stilters from Chicks on Sticks will meet here around 10 p.m. to 11 p.m. for glowing dance party! 

West of 35W Bridge: 

Crankie on the Greenway - Come watch Kevin Kirsch as he narrates and acts out stories using an old, gutted out television. You won't see what's coming next!   8 p.m. to Midnight. 

Freewheel Midtown Bike Center (near 10th Ave.): 

Glowing Yoga - Join in on some glowing yoga with Minnesota Power Yoga led by Danielle Jokinen by the Sheraton patio between Elliot Avenue and Chicago Avenue. 9 p.m., 9:30 p.m., and 10 p.m.

Like Riding a Bike - Join the skill sharing conversation about learning to ride a bike with projections and a stationary bike installation. 8 p.m. to Midnight.

Light in Motion - Watch and participate as a giant catapult (trebuchet) launches LED lit water balloons are into the air!  8 p.m. to Midnight 

Animation Station - View and create your own stop motion projections on the Greenway. 8 p.m. to Midnight.

Spinning Stories: Stories After Dark Stop 2 - Listen to the placebased tales by talented storytellers and ride along to hear more at two other locations along the Midtown Greenway. 9 p.m. and again at 11 p.m..

Food and beverages will be on sale in the Freewheel Midtown Bike Center!

Cedar Avenue:

Glow Sticks - Glowing stilters from Chicks on Sticks will be departing from Cedar Avenue at 9 p.m. towards the Kix Field for a dance party!

Sabo Bridge: 

Joey Flip - Listen as Joey brings a powerhouse guitar solo and instantly strip it down to a slow, soulful, bluesy ballad. 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Field of Lights - Come walk through a field of glowing lights, why not take one home with you?  8 p.m. to Midnight. 

Vine Arts Center (27th Ave. & the Greenway)

Spinning Stories: Stories After Dark Stop 3 - Listen to the placebased tales by talented storytellers and ride along to hear more at two other locations along the Midtown Greenway. 9:30 p.m. and again at 11:30 p.m.

Vine Arts Center will also be featuring Night Gallery, art illuminating the darknerss, painting with light, projection and shadow-play. Vine Arts will also have ambient bass music provided by Charles Milkey.

Food at the Glow

Soo Visual Arts Center on the Greenway at Bryant and 29th Street:  Prairie Dogs Hot Dogs & Sausages and cash bar (staffed by Bryant-Lake Bowl).  8 p.m. - Midnight.

Freewheel Midtown Bike Center:  Sandwiches, cookies, ice cream, coffee and more!   Open until Midnight.
