"No Such Thing as Waste Water: St. Cloud's Innovations in Resource Recovery"

You may know that the world's supply of phosphorus--an essential element of agricultural fertilizers--is reaching its limit. You may also know that our communities' wastewater treatment facilities have made great strides recently in reducing phosphorus concentrations in their effluent. But did you know that the City of St. Cloud completed a pilot study to show that phosphorus fertilizer can be harvested from wastewater? This study could enhance an already successful biosolids management program by creating additional uses for recycled waste. Come learn how the program has gone, and how the City of St. Cloud is leading the way with innovative resource recovery efforts. Presenter Emma Larson is an Environmental Specialist with the City of St. Cloud.

Light breakfast provided. Free. RSVP to lark_weller@nps.gov
