Celebrate African Heritage: Traditional Spiritual Music of Ethiopia
Noon–12:45pm
Entering kindergarten and up. Watch a performance of the massinko, a one-stringed fiddle, which is Ethiopia's national instrument.

Celebrate African Heritage: What Now for Somali-Americans?
2:30pm–3:30pm
Professor Ahmed I. Samatar, professor and dean of the Institute for Global Citizenship at Macalester College, will speak about the challenges that confront Somali-Americans to earn their rightful place in Minnesota and the U.S.

Celebrate African Heritage: Images of Ethiopia Photographic Exhibition
Noon–3:00pm
Held at Second floor near Pohlad Hall
Display of stunning pictures of Ethiopia by internationally renowned cinematographer/photographer Getachew Irko. Irko will be present to talk about the photos.
