Ard Godfrey House Tours - Saturday and Sunday, June 15 and 16

Visit the Godfrey House – the oldest remaining wood frame house in Minneapolis, first occupied by Ard Godfrey, a millwright, and his wife Harriet Godfrey in 1849. Costumed volunteers from the Woman’s Club of Minneapolis will guide you through the fascinating furnished home and help you glimpse what life was like for early city founders. Coloring sheets, face painting and temporary tattoos will be available for children. No admission fee is charged, but donations are welcome. Special tours for groups of ten or more may be scheduled year-round for a minimal fee by making arrangements with Muriel (612-781-8791). The house is partially wheelchair accessible on the main floor, but has the restrictions of a historic home. Please call Muriel (at the number above) one week in advance to make arrangements for guests with special needs.
