Talk of the Stacks is a free reading series exploring contemporary literature and culture, held at the Minneapolis Central Library. The series is unified by its commitment to connecting our leading authors with a community of readers at the Library. Programs are free and open to the public. Seating is first come, first served. Programs begin at 7 pm. Doors open at 6:15 pm. Books are available for sale and signing. Signing follows lecture.
Tayari Jones is the author of the novels Leaving Atlanta, The Untelling, Silver Sparrow, and An American Marriage. Her writing has appeared in Tin House, The Believer, and The New York Times. An American Marriage, which was named a 2018 Oprah's Book Club pick, has been called, "A tense and timely love story packed with brave questions about race and class." Jones currently serves on the MFA faculty at Rutgers-Newark. She is also a visiting fellow at the Black Mountain Institute at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
