Today at Mill City Farmers Market:  MISSISSIPPI RIVER DAY!

Celebrate our Mighty Mississippi River at the Market on Saturday, July 16! After you pick up your local groceries, stop by our local community groups to learn about the river's ecology and value to Minnesota agriculture from: The University of Minnesota Raptor CenterMississippi Park ConnectionFriends of the MississippiGreat River Coalition, and Big River Magazine.

Produce Planner: Arugula, beets, berries, baby bok choi, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, cherry tomatoes, cilantro, collards, cucumbers, dandelion greens, fennel, garlic scapes, green beans, green onions, hakurei salad turnips, herbs, kale, kohlrabi, lavender, lettuce, mint, microgreens, mushrooms, mustard greens, Nappa cabbage, oregano, pac choi, parsnips, radicchio, radishes (red and french breakfast), rhubarb, oregano, potatoes, raspberries, sour cherries, spring onions, squash blossoms, salad mix, snap peas, snow peas, spinach, strawberries, Swiss chard, thyme, zucchini and much more!

Cooking Demo, 10:30am: Market Chef Nettie Colón will prepare a seasonal market meal in our FREE cooking demonstration.

Community Booths: The University of Minnesota Raptor Center, Mississippi Park Connection, Friends of the Mississippi, Great River Coalition, Big River Magazine.

Live Music, 11am-1pm: Enjoy live music from guitarist Ben Glaros in the green music tent by the Guthrie stairs.

Kids Activities: Power of Produce (PoP): A seasonal vegetable tasting club for kids ages 3-12, located at the Info Booth tent. Kids are empowered to buy their own vegetables with a $2 market token after tasting a seasonal fresh veggie sample.

Meet Your Vegetables: Sample fresh, seasonal veggie recipes created and prepared by Nutrition students at our Meet Your Vegetables booth, located at the top of the Chicago Mall–grab a recipe and a sample and chat with medical professionals fromAllina Health, the program’s sponsor.

Art Market: This Saturday’s featured local artists include Annika Kaplan Jewelry, Anna Metcalfe Ceramics, Ink Orchard, Stangler Works, Aprilierre, ArtAndes, Jeanne Beatrice Market Baskets, Larissa Loden, Sassy Knitwear, and Milkweed Editions. Find them in the train shed and the Chicago Expansion!
