Today at Mill City Farmers Market: Mississippi River Day!

This Saturday is our annual Mississippi River Day--a day we celebrate the beautiful, historic and agriculturally significant river right outside our doors. Join experts on the river's ecology and over 60 local farmers, food makers and artisans to celebrate the Mighty Mississippi!

MARKET YOGA

9 to 10 & 10:15 to 11 a.m. – As part of the Market’s mission to grow a healthier community, we’ve partnered with local neighborhood yoga studios to offer free outdoor yoga classes! Before or after you shop the Market, join talented instructors from Alchemy 365 for an hour of all-level flow followed by a restorative yin yoga class with The Gem Life focused on the spiritual power of water. Both classes in the lawn overlooking the Mighty Mississippi and Stone Arch Bridge! Learn more

MILL CITY COOKS

10 to 10:15 a.m. – Learn fundamental cooking skills, including selection, prep and storage for seasonal farmers market vegetables and more in the train shed patio.

10:30 to 11 a.m. – Join us for our chef-led cooking class offered every Saturday in the train shed patio, inspiring you to make your #WeeklyMarketMeal. This Saturday, market chef Nettie Colón will be making a seasonal dish using ingredients from the market. Samples and recipe cards are available at each demo—or check out our recipe archive!

LIVE MUSIC

11 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Douala Soul Collective will be spinning funk and world records in the green music tent by the Guthrie stairs.

MINI FARM

The Minnesota Historical Society’s Oliver H. Kelley Farm joins us on the second Saturday of each month to show us what life was like on an 1860’s Minnesota farm. Meet heritage-breed sheep and chickens and chat with Kelley Farm staff on the top of the Chicago Mall, near Spoonriver restaurant.

POWER OF PRODUCE

Power of Produce “PoP“ veggie tasting club is at the information booth every week! Kids ages 3-12 can earn a $2 token to spend on fruits and veggies by tasting a local, seasonal vegetable, as a way to empower kids to make healthy eating decisions. Learn more.
