Great Northern Concert on Nicollet Mall

Location: Nicollet Mall, 9th Street - 11th Street

At The Great Northern, we believe in being out in it. The cold. The ice. The snow. The flurries and drifts and whiteouts and whatnot – all of it. We believe in layering up. Bundling up. Wearing big coats, big boots and even bigger hats. We believe in free live music outside on a beautiful winter night and we want you to join us!

Nicollet Mall will take center stage on Thursday, January 31stas we bring together national recording artists Matt and Kim, the duo known for infectious, beat-driven anthems and explosive live shows for a free concert. Before the concert kicks-off join us for a little taste of summer in the winter. Partnering restaurants will open their patios for the evening and we’ll have outdoor games and activities. This is one event you won’t want to miss!

Music on the Mall will feature Brooklyn-based indie pop duo Matt and Kim, known for infectious, beat-driven anthems and explosive live shows, who will perform on Nicollet Mall between 10th and 11th Street on Jan. 31. Matt and Kim, formed in 2004, consists of Matt Johnson (vocals/keyboards) and Kim Schifino (drums). With six studio albums to date, their 2009 song “Daylight” has reached platinum status, and the duo continues to headline sold-out tours across North America and at many major music festivals including Bonnaroo, Coachella, and the Firefly Music Festival.

This event is free and open to the public.
