Urban Archaeology: The Nicollet Avenue Repaving Project

The City of Minneapolis made a major upgrade to Nicollet Avenue between Lake Street and 40th Street, including work on the storm sewer system and planting trees. Dave Romm, who lives at Nicollet and Lake, photographed the old streetcar rails, the installation of the new street, what's beneath the asphalt and other aspects of the project, from spring of 2012 through the finishing touches today.
