On Friday, January 1st at approximately 12:30 a.m., 2nd Precinct Officers responded to investigate reports of a shooting and a man down on the 500 block of 8th Avenue SE. Responding Officers located a male victim who was transported to HCMC and later died of his injuries.

Minneapolis Police are continuing to investigate this incident (16-000079). Anyone with information is asked to call the Minneapolis Police Tip Line at 612-692-8477 or text your tips to 847 411 (TIP411), enter MPD, a space then your tip.
