Talk of the Stacks is a reading series exploring contemporary literature and culture. Programs are free and open to the public. Seating is first come, first served. Programs begin at 7 pm. Doors open at 6:15 pm. Books are available for sale and signing. Signing follows lecture.
February 27: Alicia Eler & Stephanie Glaros in Conversation with Stephanie Curtis: Exploring Identity Through the Lens of Digital Media
This dynamic trio of local newsmakers explores identity through the lens of digital media, discussing authentic storytelling and building a personal brand. Alicia Eler is the visual art critic/reporter at the Minneapolis Star Tribune and the author of "The Selfie Generations: How Our Self Images Are Changing Our Notions of Privacy, Property, Sex, Consent, and Culture". Stephanie Glaros is a teaching artist, author, and speaker, best known for her blog and book, "Humans of Minneapolis". Stephanie Curtis is the Senior Producer for Minnesota Public Radio’s The Thread and co-host of The Cube Critics, a weekly film review podcast.
Presented by U.S. Bank and sponsored by Star Tribune, Talk of the Stacks is free and open to the public and held at Hennepin County Library - Minneapolis Central (300 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis, MN 55401) in Pohlad Hall.
